John G. Shinkle (b. March 10, 1912, Boston, Mass.), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1933 with a commission in Field Artillery. Early in his career he became involved in the Ordnance field. He was first assigned to the White Sand Proving Ground/Missile Range in 1951 as Director, Technical Operations. Subsequently, he served as executive officer for the Assistant Chief of Ordnance for Research and Development and as the first commander, Army Rocket and Guided Missile Agency. Back i...
