John G. Shinkle (b. March 10, 1912, Boston, Mass.), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1933 with a commission in Field Artillery. Early in his career he became involved in the Ordnance field. He was first assigned to the White Sand Proving Ground/Missile Range in 1951 as Director, Technical Operations.
